Ankkurin miesten ryhmä sai loppukesästä lisävahvistusta erityisesti tulevaisuutta silmällä pitäen. Turkin ylivoimaisesti lupaavin juniorisuunnistaja Orhan Kutlu tulee jatkossa kantamaan Ankkurin värejä.
Name: Orhan Kutlu

Why and how you became an orienteer? I started when I was 15 years old in high school. Our teacher asked "Who is good at maths and geometry?" to select team members. I was quite good at them but the important thing was that my best friends were going to trainings. Then I joined to have some time together :)
Where do you live and what do you study? My home town is Bolu where it"s big potential for orienteering and at 1400-1600 m altitude. I live in Istanbul and study business administration in Marmara University.
Plans and goals for this remaining next season and beyond: For remaining season my biggest goal is to win all forest races ın SEEOC (South East European Orienteering Championship). To my surprise I wıll run in WOC too. I am not ready for it because I had 3 hard races in July, so I dont feel so strong, actually I feel tired :) But WOC will be great experience for me and I wıll do my best in that moment. My long term goal is to be in top places in 2020s. Especially in middle distance. I also want to be professional athlete. Full of orienteering :)
Previous clubs: I am runnıng for Kuzey Geyikleri DSK in Turkey. AngA is my first Scandinavian club.
Why did you choose Ankkuri? I have a close friend in team, Yasar Ismet. He told me really good things about the club. Good opportunities, maps.. and most importantly more than a club: like family :). Club"s attitude is also important. Ankkuri focuses on personal improvement and supports the ones who are willing to train and be good.
Favourite terrain:
- Cebeli Reis in Antalya
- Kalngale in Latvia
- Belgrad Forest in Istanbul
- I am sure Finnish terrains will be here too :)
Idols: I have lots of idols. Thierry, Olav Lundanes, Edgars Bertuks, Simone Niggli
Favourite relay leg: It depends on the race. For example in JWOC I like 1. leg but in SEEOC I want 3. leg. I have never run in 10-mila or Jukola but I thınk middle ones would be my favorite.
Best orienteering memory: Of course there is lots of memories but I can not forget how I felt suprised in my first EYOC and JWOC. I felt really bad when we talked with friends and learned how other countries train and what kind of oppurtunities they have. But that was my motivation in that time. I was very dedicated to catch them and be on the same level.
Other hobbies: I really like to write. Sometimes I write what I feel at that moment, then they become very funny when you read them later (especially thoughts after races) :). I like to follow, read and search for orienteers and athletes. Then I can find different kinds of thoughts and tips to my training and orienteering :)
Favourite dish: Turkish Tandir (a kınd of meat meal that is cooked in special pan) and also nearly every kind of meal with aubergine
Marital status: Single :)
Free style or classic style? Of course free style!
Greetings to your club mates: Hey, I am looking forward to meet you all and have first trainings with you. I am pretty sure we will do a good job together. Lets fight for AngA ;)
Tervetuloa, welcome, hoşgeldiniz Orhan!
